Youth Service America re-launched the "Disaster Relief & Preparedness Through Service-Learning" resource guide. This guide includes ideas for planning a high quality service-learning initiative focused on disaster relief and preparedness as well as a brief "Help Haiti" lesson plan.

Middle school STEM educators in 19 states who incorporate disaster preparedness and service into their curriculum are eligible to apply for YSA's STEMester of Service grant program. Proposals are due August 20. For complete grant information, visit www.YSA.org/grants/stem.
