The Volunteer Connection's Youth Volunteer Corps in conjunction with the ninth grade health class at Defiance Tinora High School will review the lunch menu at the elementary school and junior/senior high school for the month of February. The menu selections will be analyzed for nutritional value, number of calories, fats, proteins, fiber, etc. During assigned lunch periods, students will measure actual serving sizes provided by cafeteria workers and compare those to recommended serving sizes.
dents will then research the amount of exercise, either walking, jogging or swimming that it would take to burn off the number of calories consumed by eating lunch in the cafeteria.
