The students in the Special Program for Adolescent needs (SPAN) have identified the need for a comprehensive recycling program at Washburn High School and have been learning about the importance of recycling and how they can become involved with the process. After this initial preparation, the students will implement a school-wide organic recycling program.
will not only work within the high school, but also collaborate with and visit different entities that are involved with recycling in the Twin Cities. Throughout this process, the students will continuously reflect on the direction the project is headed, as well as the impact it is having on both them as individuals and the school as a whole.
