Project YES (Youth Envisioning Social change) is a non-profit that provides leadership opportunities to young people through the arts and service learning.In Fall 2008, at least 30 elementary school students in Lafayette, Colorado, USA will collaborate with a professional artist and Project YES facilitator to create a Community Impact Mural to address a community need that they will select.
cs include immigration, animal rights, the environment, hungeror HIV/AIDS. Youth participants will lead in choosing the issue, designing and implementing the mural and presenting it to the community. The entire community and school of 420 students will benefit from this visible reminder of positive youth voice and be educated about issues relevant to the youth of today.
